Uncle Sam Tyres is an independent tyre shop based in Braintree, Essex. This policy explains what we do with personal information and applies to this website and to the work we carry out at the workshop.
What information we collect
This website does not have contact forms, accounts or logins, so we do not collect personal information through the site itself.
When you call us or message us on WhatsApp we will usually hold your name, phone number, vehicle registration and details of the work discussed. That is so we can quote accurately, order the right tyre and keep a record of what we fitted to your vehicle.
Why we hold it and how long for
We hold this information to carry out the work you asked for, to answer questions afterwards, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Records connected to a sale are kept for as long as tax law requires, and enquiries that do not lead to work are not kept once they are dealt with.
We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to anyone for marketing purposes.
Who we share it with
We share only what is necessary, and only with people involved in the work: for example a tyre supplier when we order a tyre in for you, our accountant, or a payment provider when you pay by card.
Third party services on this website
Our contact and area pages embed a Google map so you can find the workshop. When that map loads, Google may receive your IP address and set cookies under its own terms. If you would rather it did not, avoid opening those pages or block third party content in your browser.
Clicking a WhatsApp link takes you to WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta under its own privacy terms.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Contact us using the details below and we will deal with your request within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
