These terms apply to work carried out by Uncle Sam Tyres at Rear of 282 Broad Road, Braintree CM7 5NW, and to the information published on this website.
Quotes and prices
Prices we give over the phone or on WhatsApp are based on the tyre size and details you give us, and include fitting, wheel balancing, a new valve and disposal of the old tyre unless we say otherwise.
If the vehicle turns out to need a different size, a different load rating, or additional work, we will tell you before carrying it out. We do not add anything to the bill without agreeing it with you first.
This website is not a shop. Nothing on it is an offer to sell at a stated price, because tyre prices change with stock and size.
Part worn tyres
Part worn tyres we sell are inspected and sold in line with the standards that apply to part worn tyres in the United Kingdom. Because they are used products, they carry less remaining tread than a new tyre and a correspondingly shorter life.
Where we consider a tyre unsafe to sell or repair we will not fit it, whatever the customer's preference.
Repairs
We repair punctures only where the damage falls in the repairable area and the casing is sound. If a tyre cannot be repaired safely we will explain why and quote you for a replacement.
A tyre that has been driven on while deflated may not be repairable even if the puncture itself looks minor.
Your responsibilities after fitting
We torque wheel nuts to the correct setting and set tyre pressures before you leave. We recommend you check pressures and re-check wheel nut tightness after around 25 miles, as is standard advice after any wheel has been removed.
Wheel alignment can be affected by potholes, kerbs and worn suspension components after work is carried out, and we cannot be responsible for changes caused after the vehicle leaves us.
Liability and your legal rights
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Work is carried out with reasonable care and skill, and goods supplied are as described.
We are not liable for indirect losses such as loss of earnings arising from a vehicle being off the road.
Services we do not offer
We do not provide emergency call-out, roadside assistance or mobile fitting. All work is carried out at our workshop during opening hours.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
